Bally's Interactive

I created all kinds of static and animated assets for some of their main brands.

Transforming abstract ideas into designs for marketing and communication: Banners, emails, social media, game assets, UI designs, print and automated templates.

Templates

JackpotJoy is a very colourful brand. When working on promotion banners our team realised it was taking a lot of time as you had to activate and deactivate lots of layers depending on the colour you wanted for the background. It was also making the file very heavy and slow.

I came up with an automated template made with Photoshop actions so everyone could choose and test different colours with just one click. Here you can see an example with 3 colours:

We also received more than one hundred studio photos to use in our assets, e.g. the woman you can see above with the orange silhouette.

The backgrounds were not clean enough so it would have taken a long time to make all the assets transparent. I also automated this process, from cleaning the background to adding the coloured “shadow” behind the person, as well as saving the png.

Character Design

Lucky is Vera & John’s mascot. The design follows a “kimo-kawaii” style, which means “creepy-cute”. This style combines Kawaii aesthetics with stylistic elements of horror and macabre.

I was asked to come up with a 2D version of Lucky and different ways to implement his new design. I spent a lot of time thinking… “How far can we go?” So I made a transition from most creepy to cute style and saw which elements worked best in 2D. It was a very nice challenge!

We also wanted Lucky to only maintain the logo on his back. Not showing on the sides like the original version:
